International Bantu Languages Conference Standing Committee
In order to facilitate the regular organisation of International Bantu Conferences, and especially to formalise the procedure for selecting a conference location, a committee was set up in 2014. It was set up in an ad-hoc fashion in the process of organising Bantu 6. Members include a group of organisers of previous Bantu conferences: Lutz Marten (Chair), Koen Bostoen, Laura Downing, Nancy Kula, Sophie Manus and Mark Van de Velde. While there is no need to establish an elaborate administrative structure for the Bantu conference series, it was felt that a permanent committee would help to support the future success of the conferences. A separate business meeting will be held at Bantu 6 to discuss the issue with participants at the conference, and to decide on future structures.
Comité permanent pour les colloques internationaux sur les langues bantoues
Afin de faciliter l’organisation régulière des colloques internationaux sur les langues bantoues, et surtout pour formaliser le choix des lieux de conférence, nous avons décidé en 2014 de créer un comité permanent. Le comité a été créé de manière ad hoc en discutant les préparations pour Bantu 6. Les membres actuels du comité sont Lutz Marten (président), Koen Bostoen, Laura Downing, Nancy Kula, Sophie Manus et Mark Van de Velde. Nous organiserons une réunion de travail accessible à tous les intéressés lors de Bantu 6 à Helsinki afin de décider sur l’organisation et la composition du comité dans l’avenir.
