Dorothee Beermann (Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim) sera l’invitée du LLACAN du 23 mai au 5 juin 2019.
Elle s’intéresse beaucoup aux langues africaines et elle est spécialiste entre autres de développement d’outils de création et d’utilisation de corpus.
Elle donnera un exposé (en anglais) intitulé Working with corpora for lesser studied languages: The case of Akan NA le mardi 28 mai à 16h30 dans la salle de réunion du LLACAN, Campus CNRS de Villejuif.
Bref résumé de l’exposé : I will talk about the function of NA, which has been classified as a conjunction and a focus particle. Thomas Bearth talked about the conjunction as the narrative NA, and in pragmatics some colleagues have called it a presupposition marker. I would like to discuss NA on the basis of data from short narratives, linguistic system sentences (elicitated) and recorded data from radio broadcasts. The latter is code-switching data Akan-English.
