Le mercredi 07 décembre 2022, de 10h à 11h, Vadim Dyachkov fera une présentation intitulée «Documentation of Natioro (Gur): theoretical problems and perspectives».
Natioro is an underdescribed Gur language spoken by some 4000 people in Burkina Faso. It lacks any detailed description but is undoubtedly one of the most intriguing Gur languages, given its isolated status within the family. My research, going on since 2018, fills the existing gap and is dedicated to the complex description of Natioro, including creating a grammar, a dictionary, and a text collection as well as detailed investigation of various phonological and grammatical phenomena. In this talk, I will give an overview of the results of my fieldwork with a special focus on the phenomena that are of particular interest to linguistic typology. Namely, I will present some preliminary results contributing to the study of some wide-spread West African features as well as to linguistic theory (word order alternations, case marking, syntax of class suffixes, passive lability). I will also present the results of my lexicographic work and the first version of the Natioro grammar.
