Book series founded by France Cloarec-Heiss, coordinated by Pascal Boyeldieu.Aims and scope:
The book series Afrique & Language aims, firstly, at improving our knowledge of the languages of sub-Saharan Africa. It also likes to improve the reception of these research results in current theoretical debates with a linguistic, cultural or cognitive orientation.
It welcomes works that advance our knowledge of the linguistic and cultural heritage of the African continent as well as theoretical studies. These include monographs (grammars and dictionaries), works with a focus on language development (standardisation, terminology), analyses and editions of literary texts or oral traditions, ethno-linguistic studies presenting the original conceptual systems and their cognitive implications, and, least but not least, works dealing with the history and genesis of languages.
